1: I love thee because thou art the kindest man I’ve ever known. Thou hast the sweetest heart, the gentlest spirit, and the cutest little tushie that I’ve ever seen.
2: I love thee for thine infinite patience. My heart is grateful for the way thy understandeth my quirky ways, and my hormonal imbalances.
3: I love thee because even though thy won’t let me have a teacup puppy, thy alloweth me to dream aloud about them, talk about them, and thou even stoppeth thy truck to let me look at cute doggies whenever we pass them.
4: I love thee because not only dost thou eat Tuna Dump and other crap meals, thou never ceases to express thy thanks for the effort.
5: I love thee for expressing each day how much thou lovest me.
6: I love thee because thou art not jaded by the cruelty of the world. Thy wonder and appreciation for the little things doth touch me deeply.
7: I love thee for encouraging me in all of my endeavors, for appreciating me no matter what, and for snuggling with me when I am cold.
8: I love thee for how thou treateth thy pet. I feel such happiness every time I witness thee sleeping on thy pillow with thy cat on top of thy head.
9: I love thee for thine unique perspective on all things, except maybe for thy taste in music.
10: I love thee for thine artistic sensibility, and for understanding why I cry when I see a field of flowers.
11 I love thee for thine unending optimism, and thy vision of the future.
12 I love thee for loving me unwaveringly, through good and bad, happiness and sorrow, when I’m at my best or worst, and when I wear my pajamas all day while I do my writing.
Happy Valentine’s Day, My Angel xoxoxo
Aaawwww. sniffle. Methinks this so very sweet, indeed.
This is beauuuuuutiful! Happy sappy VD to you and Tom!
(I love saying that)
I think I just fell in love with Tom, too.
HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!!
LOL at Brian’s comment!
But seriously. This was so sweet and funny, it’s a masterpiece really. Every single item was excellent. What a great, fabulous Valentine you’ve written.
That is so sweet. You are very lucky that you have such as sweet and loving partner and also because of your thorough knowledge of olde english. Happy VD!
Abbe
Awww. This is a dangerous post, mbmq. I think we’re all a litlle in love with Tom now. You picked amazing qualities to highlight and did it beautifully and whimsically.
@ Awwww…thanks everybody. I hope you’ve all had a great Valentine’s Day. I was feeling all romantic and mushy, but then we went out to dinner and now I feel stuffed and sleepy.
Brian, I’ll pass Tom along to you under the following circumstances:
1: Something happens to me.
2: Something (heaven forbid) happens to Alan.
3: Tom becomes a homosexual.
I’ll write this on paper and lock it in the safe, along with my will.
He lets the cat sleep on his head?! That’s dedication to the cause…
@ Leaf: The cat has issues. He went through a very passive aggressive phase, and was trying to become supreme commander of the house, but now he’s just sort of become an affection whore. He climbs into bed with us, and slowly, through the night, he inches onto Tom’s pillow, where he perches on top, right on his head. If one of us puts our hand out in our sleep, he nuzzles his head all around it, and kind of pets himself, even if we’re not actively participating. This stuff goes on all night, every night.
LOL @ the conditions for passing Tom along. I’m sure your kids will have puzzled expressions on their faces when that paper comes out at the reading of your will.
As my Grandma said when she approved:
Your Tom is a “keeper” …she also knew a good tush when she saw one!
Happy Valentine’s Day to both of you!
This was very sweet.
Y’all sound very happy!
I love this!!! You always manage to make me smile when I read your blog.
I have to admit I have a pretty awesome man, too so here is my list of reasons.
1: I love thee for thine beautiful music thou hast written that only I have ever heard thou play on thine guitar.
2: I love thee for the smile on thine face when thou looketh at my sculpture and when thou tellith me this is what I was meant to do because without thee, I would still be hiding and afraid someone will hurt me if I am noticed.
3: I love thee for the way thou forgivist me when thou cometh home from a long day of work to findith the laundry still unfolded, the table covered with unfinished sculptures and no dinner ready and then thou helpeth me do these things.
4: I love thee for taking care of me that time after I had surgery when we first started dating and I had to go to an awards ceremony as part of my grade in college but I was still reacting to the anesthesia and I couldn’t get there on my own. I walked into one of the huge tires on thine truck and got a giant tire track imprinted on my white pantyhose and afterward had to teeter across a stage in high heels looking convincingly like I’d just been run over in the parking lot and thou caughteth me before I fell off the stage and thou gotteth me safely home.
5: I love thee for buyething me an engagement cockatoo instead of an engagement ring when thou foundith I didn’t wear jewelry, but loved birds.
6: I love thee for wrapping our first born child in a blanket and callething the blanket a tortilla and our child thine baby burritto.
7: I love thee for thy understanding when after our child was born, we needed to get rid of our cherished engagement triton cockatoo, the loudest species of bird kept in captivity who was so quiet at the pet store before we broughteth him home and then thou boughteth me a diamond ring and thou toleratith that I wear it only occasionally, but it is the only jewelry I ever wear.
@ Brian: Maybe I should begin the document with, “Kids, you’d better sit down for this one…”
@ Gypsy: Your grandmother sounds so fantastic. Always. Very wise.
@ Lucky: We are. You hang in there, and we’ll be reading your list one of these days. I didn’t meet Tom until I was 44. He was definitely worth the wait.
@ kimiam: Awwwwww… this was so wonderful– I love these! Hope you pass this along to your hubby. What a great guy!
Oh I hope thee loves thou too
How gorgeous this is… *sigh* I’m envious.
Moonbeam, great idea. I printed that off and it’s sitting on his desk right now. Thanks!!
@ Narnie: He seems to love me very much, or at least he faketh it really well.
@ kimiam: I’m so glad– I’ll bet it makes his day!
