Life has been a blitzy, blurry blizzard of busyness. I’m buried in an avalanche of writing, which is a good thing, but I miss this place. I’ll post as soon as things calm down, or until I learn how to juggle more efficiently. In the meantime, I wanted to stop by and say that I hope everyone reading this is doing exceedingly well and that life is being kind.
Here’s a little splash of happiness. I saw a band called The Givers on Jimmy Fallon the other night. Their energy and joy was a little contagious for me, and I wanted to share it in hope that it is for you too.
How funny, I JUST stopped by here earlier today wondering if maybe you had posted something and I just wasn’t notified for some reason. YOU ARE MISSED MOONBEAM!!!
See? We were all ESPN-ing. Sigh…I miss you too. Truly.
Wow – they are so young – and so energetic…
“Life balance” – I am getting there. My only tip is not to care too much about the things that don’t matter. And, the only things that really matters are people – first YOU, then others. Not in a selfish way, but you have to look after yourself if you are going to be able to look after others.
Okay, enough of that – hugs!
They are young, and I think that energy is what I love about them. That, and the fact that the girl hits those cymbals like a lumberjack on steroids, and the lead singer looks like Mark Zuckerberg and hops around like he has 10 rabbits in his pants.
I appreciate the advice on balance, Pat. Being a pretty perky people person, I agree. I love what I’m doing for a living, in part because I get to interact with so many fascinating people. I get to know them and tell their stories. As for putting myself first…well, I’m working on it.
I’m loving Pat’s comment. As for the band, I wasn’t really digging their sound, but really enjoyed their style and energy. Now, it’s been said before, but I’m going to say it again, you are missed MB.
Hope to see/read more of your around here in the near future.
Thank you for commenting on the song, Mr. P! It’s the energy and style that I love most. It’s like um…when listening to the Black Eyed Peas– it’s the way it makes me feel that I find so great. It beats Geritol.
I really miss my little blog haven, and the back and forth that we do here. My brain’s always holding a minimum of 207 things I want to post here. I need to unload some of it soon, before my head bursts.
Thanks for checking in Moonbeam! As usual no news is good news with you. I’m so glad to hear that you’re making your living writing!
Thanks for the tune too. I’ll listen to it as soon as I find my earbuds … they may be in the couch …
Thank you for checking in, David! I don’t know how long this “writing for a living” will last, but I’m so grateful for it right now.
You keep your earbuds in the couch too?
Oh yeah. That song was AWESOME! It reminded me of Rusted Root a little. I’ve been waiting for some new music to drift this way … thanks!
Yay! I’m glad you like it! Judging from the lack of response, I think you and I are in the minority, but we have sort of quirky tastes in music. Thank you for quirking with me.
HI Moonbeam!! So glad you dropped in… YOU ARE MISSED!! But I’m so very glad that you are making money! Could you please send me your recipe? I’d like to try making some too.
Hey, I love this song. The girl has a bit of an Adele tone going on. And I loved the drumming. (I added learning to drum on my bucket list last year.) Don’t know whether we all have the same commercial in the beginning … mine was 5 hour energy drink … hmmmm?
Anyhow, thanks for the upbeat and the post!!
Don’t let your head explode! I know what you mean about the ideas. I’ve posted a few posts the past two weeks but not back full-time (I think
OH and speaking of bucket lists … guess what’s in my garage? A HARLEY!! One of Leo’s coworkers drove it over this morning and hitched a ride to work w/Leo. It’s going to be here alllll week.
(I’m going to hold it for ransom and demand a ride!)
Take care
(((Ann)))! That girl does have some Adele thing happening. The drums are what I love most. It makes me want to have a big set in my living room where I can just pound away stress– I love the power that she whacks that thing with.
OH MY GOSH! You have a Harley in your garage???? I would be so tempted to joy ride it while they’re at work. Of course, I’d fall over sideways before I got out of the driveway, but still… You should definitely demand a ride.
Writing, writing, writing. I wish I knew some magic formula for all of my writer friends. You are so talented, and you do great things with your gifts. I think we have to just keep plugging away. Personally, I think I need to hire a Brain Manager to organize all of it.
okay moonbeam, we are more than ready for a new post, cough up please……. I love your stuff
I miss my poor little blog so much, Linda! It’s the weirdest paradox- the busier I am, the more I have to write about, but I’m so busy doing the things I want to write about that I have no time to write about them. Did that make any sense at all? At any rate, I promise, I’ll be back here as soon as I can, coughing up stuff like a TB patient.
Follow up … I purchased the album from Amazon. In Light, the first album of Givers. It’s in my Amazon “Cloud Player” so I can listen to it in any old web browser anywhere I connect to the interwebs. I’ve been listening to it for a few weeks and still like it.
So thanks. Again.
You are so cool. I’m going to buy this as soon as I can. Thanks for the recommendation, and I’m glad you like The Givers as much as I do.
I miss you! ♥
